P90X Week 1 Done!

We finished the first week of P90X. I can't speak for Jayson but I think it was a great success and I feel wonderful. I saw some fluctuation in weight but I am pretty much staying the same. I also did not see any change in measurements, but I am feeling "tighter" all around. Throughout the week, I could feel more strength in my legs and arms. The biggest/greatest accomplishement was at the gym yesterday. It was supposed to be a rest day but I felt lazy after having worked out everyday. So we went and jumped on the elliptical. Now last week, I could not keep my heart rate down, but yesterday, I couldn't get my heartrate to the target. So its obvious that my endurance has picked up and my body is responding to the intensity of P90X.

Today starts week 2 and we are back to Chest and Back, and then the Ab Ripper X. I can't wait to see how I have improved in my repetition amount!
Diet has been pretty good. We went to a birthday party last night and had some drinks and some BBQ chicken. We didn't eat all that bad but all the alcohol probably wasn't very helpful. We deserved it in out eyes though. After the long week of working out and the fact that we found a sitter to go out, we enjoyed ourselves. But today is back at it! BRING IT!

On the family side, the living room basement has been great! Lots of playing. The cold weather has kept us inside lately. The girls started back to school and we are getting back into our routine. I start school tomorrow so I will go on Mondays and Wednesdays and Erilyn goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Our schedule during the week will be busy from now on.

Avery now has two teeth. I can not believe that my little baby now has teeth and this is all before he even rolls over! (He is a lazy baby.)

Almost time to eat and then its today workout!

New Years Resolution

So its obvious I am not too good at this keeping up thing. Hopefully it will get better over time. Its the New Year now...and I will just add it to my resolution list. Many people do better at keeping those silly things if they write them down. Something about making them accountable? So here is mine/ours:

1. As many know- we are starting P90x. This blog will now become a place to update on that as well as our family life. One resolution is to lose 35-40 lbs. for me and Jayson will be right beside me to tone himself. All in all, we want to get in shape...great shape. I want to get back to the Maranda that Jayson met so long (short) ago. I want to have evergy for my children, and I want them to know how to keep themselves healthy as well. I am not a very "granola" person but I want to fix some physical parts of my life and eating McDonalds and ChickFilA is one of them. So P90x and clean eating are resolution #1.

2. Spending more time with our children. Somewhere along the road, I have lost track of that valuable thing called life. I have been consumed with technology (our computers) and finances and I have unintentionally pushed the kids to the back burner. So resolution #2 is to put everything else aside and take the kids to the park more, do the things they want to do, get on the floor, play wrestle, paint, ride our bicycles, etc and NOT WORRY about the laundry or whats in my email box or when the dishes will be done. To do this, Jayson and I have moved our living room to the basement where the play room is. We will be beside them a lot more now. I hope this is a good start.

3. With the chaos of 3 children, I have become somewhat of a negative person. I know others can see it, because I can see it. So without going too deep into it, I am going to work towards becoming a more positive person. I think resolution #1 and #2 will help with this :)

So thats its- if you see me, remind me of these things. I am not ignorant to the fact that I need to work on these things. So here is to 2010!
